What are the patterns in the ACT Reading section?

I’ve read on another forum that there are certain patterns that can be recognized to do better on the section. I’ve searched on Google, but other things pop up that are irrelevant. Does any one know of any pattern in the ACT Reading Section?

Just that…
First, you’ll probably be given a passage about someone reminiscing about his or childhood in rural America. Pay attention to the moods and relationships of the characters. Understand the tone of the passage.
Then, you’ll get a passage about some big world problem like light pollution or something. Identify any controversies, conflicts, solutions, etc. presented in the passage.
Next, you’ll read about some kind of art, like an amateur guitarist’s account of his dismal attempts to sit in with the bebop cats at his favorite night club. Pay attention to details mentioned about whatever art thing is discussed. If the passage goes into stuff like, say, a history of it or describes how it has or does affect a society or something, pay attention to said stuff.
Lastly, you’ll read about science-- maybe glaciers forming the great lakes or gross life-forms that exist at the bottom of the ocean. I found that the 4th passages have the most detail-oriented questions.
I went from a 24 to a 33 on the reading portion just by becoming familiar with the specific types passages, the types of questions asked about the specific types of passages, and the ways in which the questions address the types of details that… are usually necessary to understand the specific types of passages.

Guarantee you’ll get something about growing up as the son/daughter of an immigrant of America, or about African-American identity, or about environmentalism.

Thanks so much! I got around a 26 the last time (which was the first time) and my goal is to get a 33 or more on it.

Good luck to you!
