What are the steps to terminating theUCLA housing contract

So it’s been two weeks here and I am feeling miserable. I miss my home and family so much. Every time I’m working on homework, I would start crying. When I’m with friends I would randomly cry, even in lectures I start tearing up a bit. My worst cries are in the shower and every night I cry myself to sleep until I come home for the weekend. I live in the SGV and was planning to use the Vanpools to commute to class everyday. I have no idea where to begin with ending my housing contract and it seems that not every gets approved? I need help because even though I live about an hour way I can’t suffer like this.

I suggest you go to the counseling center and try to work through some of this stuff. If things don’t work out, they can point you in the right direction regarding housing. Good luck.

@uclapack i went to counseling and i just felt that they pitied and just taught me some relaxation techniques to stop crying. well I’m back home for the weekend now and I’m still depressed because i know i will have to leave tomorrow for school again.

and search key terms like “terminate contract”. They’ve answered this question before with what you’ll need to do/where to submit paperwork. Also, it should be noted that just because you submit an appeal to terminate doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be granted.

You can terminate housing contract via talking the director of your resident building. Ask RA how to do that!
The director will give you a form to fill out. Ask your RA!

did it work out? I tried canceling and basically i just had to go to my RD and get a form with his signature, fill it out, write a letter about my reasons for wanting to move out and then give it to the housing office. The next morning they sent me an email saying that my appeal was rejected, so I guess it’s pretty hard
