I might be a transfer student if I decide to go to USC and I was wondering how friendly are the frats there towards transfers? Would I be looked down upon since I will be a junior rushing for a frat?

Can someone quickly elaborate some of the more popular frats at usc? Such as the ones popular for multi-cultural, social, academic, scandalous, illegal activities, rich spoiled kids, etc.

How friendly are the frats to marijuana use?

Do the frats at SC haze as much as the frats at berkeley and la? I have very close friends who go to LA and Berk and they secretly told me some very embarrassing things that they have done during pledging.

I know plenty of people who rushed/pledged after transferring to USC. It’s pretty common, since fraternities are probably the best way for transfer students to immediately integrate into the USC community. You won’t be looked down upon at all. You will be older than most of your pledge class, but this won’t be a problem unless you make it one.

In regard to your question about fraternities being friendly toward marijuana use… it really varies from house to house. Some fraternities are really averse to drug use, while others are very much open to it…

Same goes for hazing. Some fraternities haze, others don’t. And among those that do haze, the intensity of the experience varies from house to house.
