What are the TAP required classes for UCLA pre-psych majors?

I’m in high school and any UC acceptances look sketchy, so I will probably attend PCC or SMC. I think required TAP courses vary per jc, but which classes will I most likely have to take for Psychology?

I know little about TAP.

Also, how should I distinguish between majoring in Psychology or Anthropology? I am more interested in philosophy of the mind than the hard, technical sciences…

there are no TAP required class for specific major. The classes you have to take for you to be TAP certified is determined by your CC. For example, El Camino College requires you to take 5 honors courses by the end of your spring semester before you transfer.

PCC mandates 24 units of honors coursework, with at least 12 units being formal honors classes.

It’s only 18 units for PCC.

Here’s the website if you are interested in PCC’s TAP (they call it scholars program):
[Scholars Program - Pasadena City College](http://www.pasadena.edu/transfer/specialprograms/scholar.cfm)

Thank you for the link girlyshout

Anyone know for SMC? This is where I’m leaning.

I thought by PCC you meant Pierce Community College.

Nvm, but anyways, Pierce College requires 24 units of honors credit.

I’m in the same situation deciding between Psychology and Anthropology. That’s why I’m releived to get into UCSD and will study psychological anthropology, so I don’t have to miss out on either (or make a decision)

The only way to see which one you should go after is to take classes in both. To meet pre-reqs, some UCs require Anthro101 even for Psych majors so look into requirements that overlap.

TAP varies from school to school, but you can take honors classes in any subject. Usually 5-7 honors courses (3-5 units each) are required.
