what would be the best 5 majors to prepare me for IBanking
I’m talking about undergrad BTW

Any major at the top 5 schools

not necessarily

“Any major at the top 5 schools”

This.

The question tells me that the OP hasn’t done enough research.

IBanks don’t care what you major in. They want smart people. There are smart people in every major, and there are a lot of smart people in top schools, regardless of major.

^ I don’t think he asked what Ibanks look for. He asked which majors would best prepare him for Ibanking.

man, guy cant even get a simple answer without running into a bunch of arrogant tools. just answer his damn question.

yea if anyone knows just list the majors he wanted!

this is only my opinion. theses would work well
Finance
Maths
Economics
Computer Science

Economics
Finance/Accountancy
Maths
Computer Science
Engineering (industrial, EE)

^yeah that is a better list

I hear physics is good too, because apparently physicists are taught “how to think.”

^^^^^

So are alot of majors like english, hisrory, math, etc.

Yeah, banks love “hisrory” majors.

and banks also love tards who cant understand what a typo is

some1, I also believe that they prefer quantitative thinkers: physicists, engineers, and mathematicians are recruited more frequently than non-quantitative majors. Ergo, a physics major’s training is oftentimes more relevant than, let’s say, a Latino Studies one.

Absolutely best would be a Finance major with a Quantitative Studies or Math minor.

Next best would be Finance major with a Computer Science minor.

Besides the majors already mentioned by other people above, one other major that might come in handy in this field would be Communications. The leaders in this field are those able to “sell” their picks to large investors or the person running the fund for which they are doing research.

I have noticed that the top 3 majors of those going into IB out of the Univ of Penn are (1) Business (of course), and then (2) Engineering majors who have taken some business courses, and (3) Communications majors who have taken some business courses. (this is per the statistics put out by the Penn career placement office).

Finance is banking, econ, math, computer science minors are always helpful.
