What are the top colleges which opts for a program-based admission system

I wanna study linguistics, and I have heard nobody is choosing this major, In fact most programs has six to ten students max. I would be very happy if I can transfer to a top college and study linguistics, but I have heard that MIT for example admission process chosses students regardless of the major they are applying for, which makes you compete with thousands of students who don’t give a damn about linguistics hhh.

What are you even asking? Your other posts are about attending CC and transferring. So contact your local CC and find out what colleges in your state are happy to accept credits from CC. Then see which of those colleges offer linguistics.

There are privates that offer linguistics too. You need to see what their websites say about accepting transfer credits from comm college. You need good grades in comm college to transfer, so work hard. The courses most likely to transfer will be general Ed classes, so focus on doing those.

Looks like the OP wants to know which colleges admit by major (probably more common at the junior transfer level than at the frosh level) and where the linguistics major has sufficient or excess capacity relative to student interest.

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major can given an indication of how selective for junior transfer admission the linguistics major is compared to other majors at various UC campuses.

Thank you, that was very very helpful.
