Hello everyone so I am currently stressing over the college search and application process because I really want to find a school with the right atmosphere for me.
I am applying to Michigan State, University of Michigan, Boston University, Boston College, Northwestern University, and Vanderbilt and I was wondering if any of you have any insight into the atmospheres at these colleges or if you could share a bit about your experience at any of them?
Thanks in advance
Have you visited any of them? If you can’t visit, get your hands on some of the good college guide books (Fiske, Princeton Review, Insiders Guide) which can often be found in a guidance office or a library and start reading.
My son graduated from vandy this past May. He chose that school after finishing from Tulane (another happy and fun school)… Vandy, just like Tulane, gave him school funds (you know like scholarships, etc) and the school was happy school kind of work hard and play hard. How do I know he was happy at Vandy? because he got lots…I mean a lot of happy pictures and funny faces on facebook, Instagram, etc. My son is kinda class clown and he will not last a long time to be put in high pressure schools with no fun. But, he did work hard too and goofed around a lot. In the end, after vandy, he got a cool job as an engineer at aerospace company in cali and passed FE test too. Now, that is a happy ending.
You can also check out Vanderbilt forum on this CC; and you can type Vanderbilt comments in your search engine as it will list some websites: students review dot com, cappex dot com, etc. They all have comment sections for Vandy and other schools. But, be aware some of the comments are bias and not accurate as some kids who have not been accepted (aka rejected), they will spill their beans in there.
