What are they looking for?

<p>What are readers looking for when the scholarship essay topic is “If you could have lunch with any famous person, either living or dead, whom would you choose and why? Describe your conversation at lunch.”</p>

<p>Are readers looking for applicants to write about someone whom they admire greatly for whatever passion they have (example would be Michael Jordan if the applicant loves basketball) or are they looking for applicants to choose someone whom is known greatly for being an admirable person in the eyes of many-one who helps other, give money to the needy, etc.</p>

<p>In the first scenario, the essay will most likely reveal the applicants other interests whereas the second scenario will reveal the applicants values as a person. Which, of the two, do you is more appropriate?</p>

<p>By the way the scholarship essay is for UCLA (OOS). Basically the scholarship is looking for applicants who are involved in school and community and exhibit leadership qualities. Thanks for the help.

<p>I would imagine they’re looking to get an idea of who you are as a person while assessing your writing ability. So just write about any famous person you want to have lunch with and write why in a well-organized and well-written essay.</p>

<p>I guess they want someone they’ve actually heard of. I picked an indie musician and I didn’t get the scholarship.</p>
