What are Yale's grad school requirements?

I’m a sophomore at university right now and have a 4.0. I’m really interested in Yale’s French grad school program and would like to know what I can do, besides having a good GPA, to get in. I know the drill for undergrad ivies - Good GPA, high class ranking, special hook, high ACT/SAT, all that jazz. But what about for grad school? What are Ivy admission officers looking for in their grad students?

This forum deals with the Yale College admissions. You should plumb the Yale site for info on grad admissions – it’s a completely different animal than undergrad admissions. Good luck

Here is the website for the grad school:
[Welcome to Yale University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences](http://www.yale.edu/graduateschool/admissions/index.html)
If you go to:
[Welcome to Yale University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences](http://www.yale.edu/graduateschool/admissions/departments.html)
and click on French, you’ll get more links specific to French

Also, it is important to get in contact with faculty who might be your advisor before applying. I would say that when you are a junior or senior, see if there is a faculty member at your current institution who can put you in contact and talk you up. Even if that doesn’t work, you can do it on your own. On the application you will be asked if there is anyone at Yale you talked to about your application.
