What are you doing today?

What have I done today? Basked in the Game 7 win by my beloved Spurs, that’s what.

I’ve spent all day looking at videos of last night’s game and exchanging links with DS1. I also went back and watched the Hall of Fame speeches for Timmy and Tony and Man and Coach Pop. I’m hopeless in my fandom.

Also cheered on UT softball to a win and am watching UT baseball in its regional.

Dh just left for work a bit ago.

An absolutely fabulous, lazy day.

This afternoon we headed to the Museum of Art at Balboa Park for a talk by our synagogue president at the special Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit. It was good memories because my parents had a set of his posters on the basement wall in my childhood home.

We lunched outside at the park before the talk, and took a short stroll after. Lovely weather and a lovely day.

Beautiful spring day here. I had a relaxing morning on the porch with coffee and my book.

Stripped everything off my bed, then washed the sheets, comforter, duvet and quilt. Such a chore remaking the entire bed, esp getting duvet back on the comforter.

Went to a local nursery for flowering annuals for my whiskey barrel. First time the weather has cooperated on a day when I had time to garden. Also did some weeding.

Walked my dog.

Met my parents for dinner for my dad’s 91st birthday which was last week. DS25 and his GF joined us.

Trying to get as much porch time as possible while the weather is nice so went back out there after getting home from dinner. Just came inside after Facetiming with D21. Now time for my bedtime routine!

I had the norovirus while my grandkids were visiting.

And now I have it again.

I guess I know what I’m doing today.

Flew many many hours—1st flight was 4.5 hours with refueling in the middle. Then we had a layover for several hours and flew 14+ hours Helsinki to Haneda. En route to the hotel, I dropped my credit card in the taxi but had the taxi receipt so the hotel called and got the card back!

I’m going to the tire place. I have a slow leak in one of my tires…needs to be checked.

Then weeding in the yard…it’s not my favorite job!

Then watercolor class at 6 which should be the highlight of my day.

Finishing house cleaning, long walk, puzzles, and a Cubs game tonight. Also need to contact my hair salon because I didn’t get a confirmation email about my appointment tomorrow. I’m going to blow a gasket if something happened as my color is way overdue as it is (they have a new front desk person who leaves much to be desired).

It’s my day to watch GD. Sadly, my weekly babysitting days are winding down - she’ll be done with pre-k soon, then day camps, then kindergarten. I’ll be picking her up later than usual today, because she has her kindergarten visit day. It goes by so quickly! It’s a beautiful day, so we’ll play outside, go to the park, and she’ll just generally wear me out. The kid never stops.

Driving DH to his activities and appointments since he is not currently allowed to drive with his arm issue.

I had a trying time with grandson (4) this morning getting him up , fed and ready for preschool. I would have had an easier time herding feral cats than it went this morning. Not the best way to start the day.

Got a haircut. Relaxing now. Will accompany DH to his wound care appointment later. Then the woods with the dog.
I foolishly, in a moment of weakness, told DH I’d be OK with our adopting a senior golden retriever. On second thought, I don’t think I am. I’m tired of living in a house that is owned by dogs.

Well…it sounds like you are feeling better anyway!

My tire (we think) is fixed. The seal around the tire and wheel rim was where the leak was. They cleaned everything, put a sealant on, and said I should be good to go.

Went and bought two red geraniums for an adopted downtown garden. We need a white one too, but where I was, the only potted white ones were a LOT bigger and a lot more costly. So…I’ll keep looking. Need two small American flags too to complete this. I’m pretty sure we can get those easily enough.

I’m stalling on weeding MY gardens…I hate doing that job!

Walked my 3.3 mile 5k training walk with my neighbor for our very first Saturday 5k (walk). Went to my Dr appt to ask about an osteoarthritis and weight loss trial by Lilly (will update in the Weight Loss Drug thread). And on the way home, husband texts he just got 3 tix for the Auburn (Auburn v Ole Miss) super regional and a hotel for Friday night. Son is an Auburn grad, husband an Ole Miss grad. My neighbor was so gracious and understanding (especially since she hates sports, any kind) as I am abandoning her to walk the 5k alone or not go. She’s a talker so will likely find new friends.

Fixed my pond. It is a watering hole for deer and an oversized bath for birds. Gross aqua weeds were growing. Cleaned it out and installed a pond pump. Birds and deer will be happier.

I got a message this morning if I could watch my grandson and take him to his PT. It was an unexpected fun morning. This afternoon I had my own PT which was not as fun as my grands PT.

Recovering from yesterday’s cataract surgery. Already noticing differences. My optometrist at my follow-up said I am healing really well. Now I know what to expect next week.

I woke up early before the 8 a.m. surgery to work out as I knew I was restricted for 48 hours. I never nap but had a nice, long one today. Dh went to work late so I’ll veg watching a WNBA game and resting up for the Spurs AND the softball championship tomorrow. GSG and :sign_of_the_horns:

Getting ready to go see my D in Evanston. New territory for me and new airports. Haven’t been anywhere since last summer for a 2 night trip. H has long term health issues and care giving has dragged me down.
