What are you more anxious about - the roomate or the room?

Just had to ask :o

And for a spin on the old “OR” game - which would you rather have: crappy room in the crappiest dorm in Bulter  but with a really really cool roomate… or a real arse of a roomate but sharing the best room with the best view in Witherspoon/Holder?

I’m more anxious about the room. After all this talk of how crappy butler is, it makes me really nervous. And since I’ve said “I hope I don’t end up with butler” so many times, I know I’ve jinxed it and will probably end up in it.

Personally, I requested a single, so I’m hoping to not have a roommate. But in that situation, I would rather have the cool roommate because if you have a crappy one, then you’re not going to be in your room a lot, and then what’s the point of having a great room?

Would you rather have the arrangement you want (ie. single/double/quad) in Butler or the arrangment you didn’t want (ie. you requested a single and got 11 suitemates) in Mathey/Rocky?

I’m more nervous about the roommate. If you really get along with your roommate you can have a great time even if your room looks horrible.

i second that…personally i’ve been in the same situation where the roommates were the coolest ppl i could have hoped for but in the worst room possible!!! … had a blast though!!

I’m much more anxious about the roommate. I can deal with a crappy room in Butler if I have a cool roommate

I’d go for 11 roommates in Mathey/Rocky

i remember last year when i got my room assignment, i saw “walker,” and i was like F YEAH. but then i was like, “f, that’s in butler.”

if you do get in butler, walker and 1915 are good, just hope you don’t get in the quad. however, the really good thing about butler is that it has the most singles.

Is it true that they assign you to a res college first and then give you a room. Or does writing that you want a single make it more likely for you to be put in butler?

What’s wrong with the quad, jtiger?

I’m more nervous about the roommate but more anxious about the room (since I’ll be able to acquaint myself with it first). I’m convinced I’ll get the Roommate From Hell, so I’d rather have a good roomie versus a good room. I’ve dealt with crappy rooms before, so it’s no biggie :)

definitely dont want a bad roommate. but at princeton, i dont think its likeley ill get one. =)

i have a feeling they assign you to a res college first, then to a room.

but it seems like they pretty much ignore your preferences. i was dying for a single and got a double, while one of my good friends wanted a triple or quad and got a single. bastards.

and the butler quad…well, its so ugly they’re going to tear it down.

you guys have probably already seen this link, but here are the dorm floor plans. http://fac-gis-02.princeton.edu/Gis1/Dorms/index.html

MUCH more nervous about the roommate than the room

They assign you to the res. college first irrespective of your other preferences.

You guys should definitely be more worried about the roommate ;-).
