What are you most excited about??

What excites you the most about going to Northwestern next fall?

For me, it’s the fact that I’ll be in the best journalism program in the country…and I’m going to meet SO many awesome people. And I love Evanston and the campus.

Also, I can’t wait to one day paint the Rock. =)

How about you?

I’m… Honestly so excited for the whole process. Going to live in a place I love, surrounded by people who are intelligent and excited to be at the same school, the pre-orientation programs and basically starting school there. I guess I’m excited for the Northwestern lifestyle next fall and to finally take the Econ geography class I sat in on and other econ classes.

To sum up my rambling: Everything. :)

The only downside are the bathrooms of where I want to live lol, if I have to name one.

I spent 3 weeks at Northwestern over the summer and it was the best time of my life. I’m just excited to go back and do it again for 4 more years.

And yea, I’m pretty excited to paint the Rock, as well. =D

i spent five weeks there his summer and actually already sorta painted a rock!

i’m excited about being at my top choice of college. i know many people don’t get that opportunity and live with the disappointment for awhile.

i’m also excited about studying at the school of communications

The environment, the school… everything!

Everything, but specifically the Evanston, the Theatre program and being on the Quarter System.

I’m especially excited for the orientation week. It seems like an excellent time, where everyone is helpful and friendly. A cousin described it as “the one time where you can walk up to anyone and say ‘Hi, my name is ___, here’s my facebook, want to hang out?’”.

But of course, the whole independent lifestyle thing has its appeal too.

The quarter system (we start late so I get to spend my sister’s birthday with her!), Medill, an actual change of seasons (I love you Texas, but your weather sucks sometimes), being near Chicago, Evanston, dorm life, meeting new people, painting the Rock… basically everything! I’m going to Wildcat Day on Monday so I’m SUPER excited to see the campus again.

I haven’t completely settled on Northwestern because of a big money gap between it and my distant second/third choices.
However, it seems like an awesome place for me. I visited during the summer and didn’t feel any strong sense of “match,” but I didn’t get that gut feeling anywhere yet, and on paper NU’s been my top choice since sophomore year. It’s a little big for what I was looking for, but I’m excited about Evanston/Chicago, The School of Communication, all the opportunities for undergrads (Kaplan Scholars, Leadership institute, etc.), being around so many other motivated and intelligent people, the quarter system, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Hope I can convince the parents. And the little bird in my head going “debt is bad! Any debt is bad!” We’ll work it out.

I’m also going Monday. Packing right now, and really disappointed it’s supposed to be rainy the whole time I’m in the Chicago area. :frowning: If I love it when it rains, I know I’ll love it when it snows or shines though, so I’m good.

honestly, NU has the perfect balance of everything

Great academics, typical, fun college parties (if you want them), right outside of an amazing city but still in a charming suburb, AND big ten sports!

The very best to all of you, but please get over the rock

Yea I’m sure you never got excited about the rock as an incoming freshman. Come on give them a break they are super excited to be apart of any part of NU!
