What are you preparing for Father's Day?

We’re going to see a movie and probably have dinner out. We had a big family get-together today for SIL and nephew’s birthdays, and I gave my dad his father’s day gifts per his request.

Oddly enough this is the first year since we became parents that neither of us will see both of our kids on the respective Parent day. H and I were out of town celebrating out 30th anniversary on Mother’s Day. DD is visiting her BF for the weekend. DS may or may not be working tomorrow. DH definitely will not get to see DD. DS–maybe. I bought three steaks and some fresh corn to grill tomorrow in case DS makes it home. I made some potato salad today since it’s a favorite of DH. I “may” make blueberry pie tomorrow. I’m not a pie maker, but on Master Chef this week they made blueberry pies. It looked delicious. I purchased the blueberries today. If I don’t feel like attempting the pie, I’ll make a blueberry cobbler. It’s easier.

Kayaking in the morning, Outdoor symphony in the evening. DH and I just moved to our new retirement home, so won’t see either of our (adult) sons. I might have to send a “call Dad” reminder text.

My husband loves eggplant parmesean. A nice salad and I also will roast 1/2 turkey breast with asparagus.

The same thing he does for Mother’s Day: nothing.

I hear you Consolation, I got the same thing for Mother’s Day that you got…nothing. The things we’ll do tomorrow are things that we would be doing anyhow.

Going to ball game with H–Fenway Frank, a beer, and peanuts for food. Adult kids aren’t here–they sent presents.

Leftovers from our grad party last night. Nice that my family are here from out of town for our D. OR we will grill out.
@rrah‌ - cobbler is so much better than pie! Yum

Brunch was French toast with fresh blueberry topping/syrup and bacon. Steaks marinating for dinner. Crust made for the strawberry pie.

We went out to fogo de chao last night for a combo birthday/fathers day. I made lemon blueberry pancakes today. He’s napping off the mimosa’s now - lol I think I’ll be making a pesto/pasta grilled shrimp for dinner and just relaxing by the pool today.

His favorite meal which is easy. Steak cooked on a charcoal grill with plenty of woodchips. Corn on the cob. Salad. I have some marinated mushrooms and good olives to nibble on while the steak is cooking. We’ll have a nice red wine with the meal.

I love lamb on the grill - I usually do a butterflied leg that I’ve marinated in olive oil, lemon and rosemary. The longer it’s marinated the better! It cooks in no time flat.

Romani, sending your Dad healing thoughts!

I spent some time with my dad in the hospital today. He’s doing really well- will be discharged tomorrow assuming observation goes well tonight.

We got Jimmy John’s delivered to the hospital. He’s over the hospital food and it was approved by his doc. I thought it was all and all a pretty good day

Romani, hugs to you and speedy recovery to your dad.

We drove back from college graduation today & he got to see both of the girls cause we also drove oldest to the bus.
Not making fancy dinner.

My husband has a wonderful Father’s day, 3 world soccer matches and a basketball game.

Whole wheat waffles because I was out of white flour…pretty tasty. Buffalo burgers, salad, watermelon and homemade berry cobbler for dinner. Just home from family reunion so we saw all the kids on Wednesday. Fixed the pool pump, all in all a nice day.
