They’re not new things, but things I need to get serious about.

Address a health problem which is going to involve a change in lifestyle. teriwtt, I think I may join you all over on the wellness thread. I’ll definitely need ongoing inspiration for this one.

Join my church. I’ve been going for almost 2 years, but I need to make the commitment.

Purge the office. Rather than try to do a total cleanout all at once, I’m going to incorporate it into my daily routine – maybe spend 10 minutes a day. It’ll take longer, but I’m hoping it will build the habit of keeping it uncluttered.

I am going to have FUN this year. If it is not fun I just might not do it…

(Zoozermom–have purged two sisters from my life and it has turned out to be just fine. Am even over the guilt and I feel so much safer in my life now. Good luck!)

The bag a week is a super idea. For 3 months this fall I put 3 things everyday into a bag. It was easy as it became a game. I am a minimalist and yet it took weeks and weeks before I began to feel a dent. I will join you with one week a bag and for me there will be 21 items (3 per day). I would chat on the phone and open drawers and closets to find the three every day.

Quit smoking. It is time.

Lose 25 pounds so I can fit back into my Mess Dress for DS #1’s Wedding in May, and look good for DD’s College Graduation that same month.

Not stress out (too much) over those two events.

I am going to continue my resolution from last year to improve my spiritual life with daily Bible reading and prayer. It has taken me a long time to make this a part of every day.

My marriage will be my next priority. A marriage retreat is scheduled for next month although DH is not exactly excited about it I will once again attempt to get through the Love Dare.

Consistently follow a healthier way of eating and exercising. Need to get on that CC thread for much needed support.

Think before I speak. Is what I say True Helpful Inspiring Necessary and Kind? If not, don’t say it. Failed this already this morning. May be on my resolution lists for years.

Bullet and everyone else committing to a healthier lifestyle come on over to the diet and exercise thread. Idad one of many who keeps that community going quit smoking and lost a bunch of weight and is a great motivator, cheerleader and dedicated poster. There is tons of great info over there and friendly people if you haven’t been for awhile.

Me, eat better as always.

I signed up to run an 8k in March, this from the most unathletic person, I did the couch to 5k last year successfully. You can do this!

Thanks to all who recommended the Diet/Exercise/Health/Wellness Support Thread! I just posted there, and I am looking forward to the advice and encouragement!

I just finished typing my resolutions/daily check list. I made a similar list last year and managed to keep it going until May, which is pretty good for me. Some of them are just reminders of things that I should be doing, like weighing myself daily and drinking enough water. I have tried the bag a week several years but never seem to keep going long enough to make a dent ( horrible family of hoarders). Maybe this year with the CC thread to keep motivating me, I can finally succeed. I also have reminders to think at least one positive thought before I go to sleep—and a reminder that I need to turn off the iPad and lights earlier so that I can get to sleep earlier and get up earlier. I am borrowing a few ideas from this thread. I am ready to make some changes in my life. I was feeling really down after the huge build-up to Christmas and the seemingly abrupt end when my family left and my son went back to his college town three weeks early. I can’t depend on other people to make me happy. I have to take charge and make some changes!

In addition to being member of Bag A Week club, I’m going to attempt to clean up my computer! Unsubscribe to some of the sites that send me far too many emails. Delete or move to files some of the thousands of emails in my inbox. Clean up the address book–some get new email addresses, but I haven’t deleted the old ones.

And I’m gonna try to stay off the What’s for Dinner/or other great recipe threads and spend more time on the Diet & Exercise and WLFD thread…

I was walking yesterday and the music I usually stream wasn’t streaming. All I had left to do was think. I began thinking about my goals for this year and whether I was on track. How is everyone doing on their goals? Any success? Any revisions?

I think it would be fun to list the goals people set and achieved for this year. Or maybe even just to jot down accomplishments that have been achieved thus far in 2014 regardless of whether they were written down as goals. As well, I would love to know what goals others have set for the remaining days of 2014.

I am going to spend some time thinking about this today and would love to read about the success, struggles, plans, thoughts you all have for the rest of 2014!
