What biology class should I take in my senior year at LSA after I complete AP bio in my junior year?

How much homework does microbiology introductory have?

A majority of college classes don’t have homework. I’m pretty sure Microbio falls into this category (someone can correct me if I’m wrong), but it’s based around exams + lab grade.

From the syllabus found the LSA Course Guide:

“Point total for the course (400 points = 100%) is based on 300 points from the three highest scores of the four lecture
exams, plus 100 points from lab.”

@hailbate So after class people just self study and join discussion group or review their notes? And can you pls tell me what level (100, 200, 300, 400)of biology class I should take after AP biology? Thank you!

@someonescarlett Well I mean you are taught stuff in class, so it’s not like you are 100% relying on the textbook (and in almost all of classes that I’ve taken here, exams are based upon lectures as opposed to the textbook). Just pay attention in class, do the pre-readings, make the most out of discussion, and study at least a week in advance for exams and you’ll be okay.

The thing is that it totally depends on your major in college on what to take after AP Biology. If you are planning on going to UMich, you need to take Biology 173 (Intro Bio Lab Class), which AP Biology credit won’t cover for. After that though, totally depends on your path. For example, microbio majors need to take Biology 207 (Intro to Microbiology), neuroscience majors need to take Biology 225 (Animal Physiology), etc. So I can’t tell you, but it should be in the 100-200 level range. You do not want to take upper-level Biology courses as a high schooler.

@hailbate Yes. I will figure out. Thank you for your advices!
