Looking for reccomendations from accepted Penn students about what books and resources were helpful aids in writing a good essay.
My stats: Class rank: top 1%, GPA: 4.95/5.6 weighted (unweighted its pretty much a flat A) ACT: 34 (Math 35 Grammar 35 Science 34 Reading 32 Essay 9) EC’s: 3 different bands, debate team (bunch of awards in multiple categories), varsity tennis, NHS (and all those other standard honors etc), President of Spanish Honor Society
So, I’m applying ED to Penn and I wanted the essay to be top notch to boost my chances. Any valuable resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Using a book to write your essay probably won’t help out with originality. Write about something that is important to you and make it your own.

yeah i’m going to go with penn_2010. your essay should really be original and personal to be successful. it may be helpful to look at a few, but in the end a good essay is going to come from you and your experiences.

As difficult as it may seem to do now with all the stress surrounding your college apps, try to have fun with your essay. Imagine your essay being read at the end of the day. If your the admissions officer would you really want to read another “Walk for Hunger Changed My Outlook on Life” essays?
