What brand name item do you not like?

When D2 was a toddler she used to love Oreos (maybe still does), but would get bad diarrhea afterwards. We would go by an aisle in the supermarket with Oreos and she would shake her head saying “No, no” to herself. We learned to only to give her few so they wouldn’t upset her stomach.

One time her dad bought organic Oreos for her and she spit it right out.

I do not like Whole Foods 365 brand.

Charmin tp and Bounty paper towels. Give me Kimberly Clarke branded paper goods all day long (kleenex, cottonelle, Viva paper towels) or just plain old ordinary store brand. Charmin plugs up the plumbing and Bounty leaves residue everywhere. Yuck!

Agree on the Miracle Whip too! What IS that?

I hate any type of fake Q-tips

Non brand cereal (overly sugared) that is in bins and served at hotels.

Spam!

I used to buy brand name paper towels to get select a size, but noticed last year our store brand had added an option for those. Tried the store brand and have been happy with them.

Scott paper towels are terrible. But I like Scott toilet paper.

Starbucks. I can’t even stand the smell.

French’s yellow mustard. Only deli mustard for me and Gulden’s in a pinch.

Life cereal.

I don’t believe I have ever eaten Miracle Whip. I use Hellman’s, now I use the light version.

Those are what I use!

We use Charmin, but I have not bought a paper towel roll in several years!

Kraft marshmallows. Yuk. But then, I am not really a fan of any marshmallows.

Gotta say that I hate Charmin commercials!!!

I was thinking of starting a thread about products that our mother’s always bought when we were growing up, but we never liked, but this thread gives me the chance to put my thoughts out there:
Mom always and only bought Pepsodent toothpaste and I hate it. I have never, ever purchased it in my adult life.

She also bought Scott toilet paper. The very thin, single-ply stuff. I can honestly say I have never spent a dime of MY money on Scott toilet paper. Maybe there’s a better variety of it nowadays since some of you have mentioned that you love it, but I am happy with my store brand.

And she only bought Vel bath soap because it doesn’t leave a film on the tub or shower. After growing up, I tried all the popular stuff like Camay, Caress, and Irish Spring, but when I had to clean my own tub, I realized Vel wasn’t so bad. I used to buy it until the only store in town who carried it closed.

Ragu

Another yuck to Miracle Whip. I still have the vivid memory of ordering a club sandwich in a restaurant when I was a kid. I was so excited to be eating out and so disappointed with that first bite. I couldn’t eat the sandwich.

Pepsi (reg & Diet)
Miracle Whip
Cheerios (my husband’s favorite cereal; I can’t be around it)
Palmolive dish soap. It was the brand of choice when I was growing up, but I can’t tolerate the smell.
Velveeta. My husband was raised on it. I finally got him to eat real cheddar cheese and he’s never looked back. He even had a Tupperware velveeta container.

Dislike diet soda, diet anything. No artificial sweeteners. No “low fat” products.

I just now realized why my tuna salad doesn’t taste like Mom’s. Mom always used Miracle Whip, and I use mayonnaise. I like both, but rarely use either. I also put sweet relish in my tuna salad. And I like most of the stuff people dislike. It has been months since I had either, but I had both Pepsi (I like both Coke and Pepsi–slight preference for Pepsi) and Oreos today! I’m lactose intolerant, so Cool Whip is my friend. I use it once or twice a year on pumpkin pie.

The original Cheerios and its copies are among the few cereals on the shelves that are not heavily sweetened. It is pretty hard to find any newer type cereal (including other varieties of Cheerios) that is not heavily sweetened. Some seem appetizing based on what they are, but the sweetness is always disappointing.

Any cereal except Grape Nuts is disgusting. Gimme plain oatmeal made with milk, butter, and salt any given morning.
