What cal states should I try to apply to? 2.625 GPA Weighted

I am a California resident living near Redondo Beach Cal State Dominguez Hills is 15 minutes away from me but I don’t know if my grades are good enough. I went on the Rogerhub UC freshman calculator and it states that mine was a 2.8 weighted and 2.69 unweighted. I’m a junior by the way and im hoping to get a 1000 on the SAT

Cal states admit by eligbility index and major. EI= (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + EBRW) so your EI is 3240 if you achieve your 1000 SAT score.

Depending upon major and if it is impacted, you could get into several of the Cal states except for the top schools such as SDSU/CSULB/Cal Poly SLO/Cal Poly Pomona/CSU Fullerton/CSU Fresno and some majors at San Jose state.

Here is the CSU impacted major matrix and campus impaction. Impacted majors require higher EI’s to get an acceptance and many campuses will have higher EI thresholds for local vs non-local applicants.

CSU impacted major matrix: https://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf

Dominguez Hills is a non-impacted campus and you should be able to get an acceptance with an EI of 2900 or higher.

You can look up your local CSU here: https://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/CSULocalAdmission-ServiceAreas.pdf

You can check each CSU’s website to see if they list their EI thresholds for local vs non-local applicants along with any special requirements for impacted majors.

Here are the rest of the non-impacted CSU’s which would be worth applying to: Channel Islands, Bakersfield, Stanislaus, East Bay

CSUDH is very applicant-friendly. You appear motivated enough to be accepted.

CSUDH and the other non-impacted CSUs are good targets. I’d visit the DH campus, bring an unofficial transcript, sit down with an admissions counselor and see exactly where you stand.

Good luck.

Thank you a lot! I’m working extra hard to get my grades up this year and on my PSAT I got a 1080, do you know any other cal states that are easy to get into?

Will do, do you reccomend any other cal states?

Use the impacted matrix chart and target schools where your major is open and not impacted for the best chances. Beside the non- impacted campuses I listed above look at Monterey Bay, Cal State Los Angeles, Humboldt and San Marcos.

@Rustless Channel Islands is worth a look based on your stats.
