what can i do( a message from someone need help please)

Hi every one
I really person have true and real problem in this forum so please read my message and help me if you can
I’m Haider Ali form Iraq (21 Years old)
Computer Engineering Techniques in third stage in college
in Islamic University College Najaf (private University)
tuition fee every year is 2100 $

in my country i i want to continue study to get Master or PH.d
I should get it in the same area or department
as example if i have bachelor degree in electrical engineering i can’t get master in physics science
I should get Master in electrical engineering too
while i see an American person have bachelor degree in electrical engineering and get master in physics science and comeback and get another master in electrical engineering
he is Jason Gibson, founder of MathTutorDVD.com

ad you could visit this link to make sure of it by yourself

[About The Instructor](About The Instructor | Math Tutor DVD - Online Math Help, Math Homework Help, Math Problems, Math Practice!)

form that i could say if i want to get master or PH.d i should get it in the same department
but my department Computer Engineering Techniques is too hard to get master degree in it

because i search in Google many time with more than way and i did not find any university give master or PH.d in Computer Engineering Techniques

while i get pd.d in Electrical Engineering or ECE this is not accepted in by country
i send email to the Ministry of higher education and Scientific Research in Iraq
and the answer me that refused in Iraq

this is the syllabus of Computer Engineering Techniques for 4 years (see it if you don’t mind)

[??? ??? ?? ??? ??? - ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???](http://islamicuniver.com/index.php/permalink/3040.html</a>)

sometime i tell my self i will leave this college and restudy in electrical engineering dept in India or Ukraine but I’m in the third Stage and just one more year to graduated but this is cost me because I’m in Iraq not person live in Hong Kong
and ask why the Ministry of higher education and Scientific Research in Iraq open this special department of engineering in some of Iraqi college (i think this department only in Iraq)

also i want to tell you my college ranking in 21160 in the world and 55 in Iraqi Universities
Check this Link Please

[Iraq | Ranking Web of Universities](http://www.webometrics.info/en/Asia/Iraq)

i want to ask my only question in this time
is there any way to convert my degree in Computer Engineering Techniques To electrical engineering or ECE degree

is there any way to make that without restudy the 4 years or undergraduate program of engineering

is there any university or institute in America or the world to make that

sometime i tell my father i want to continue the graduate study in higher university ranking
like
((this is not my dream this is my aim to get strong degree and comeback to my country and help to make the education better))

IIT Bombay , ETH Zurich , Hong Kong university of Science and Technology
But my university ranking is 21160 (what can i do with university have this ranking and how much chance i have in order to accepted in high ranking universes)

at last I want to say if I fail and Can’t do anything to get master and there is no way to do that
i will serve my country as much as i could with any degree or certification I have

I’m sorry for my long message
I’m sorry for my poor English I’m Iraqi and don’t know English very well

i thing that all …

thank you very much for every one helping me or just read my message

This is something you need to ask a school advisor at your current university.

If they don’t have the program and you had unlimited time and money, you could transfer to a different university that does offer an undergraduate degree in EE. It is unlikely that many useful credits would transfer with you, though, and you’d probably be in school for an additional 2-3 years. HOWEVER, this is a pretty bad idea, I think. The title of a degree is not very important, it’s the material that you learn. If you think that the classes to get the CET degree are similar to those you’d take to get an EE degree, then it’s ok.

This is pretty bad, however, the rank of your school does not give you an immediate yes or no answer for anything. It depends on YOU much more. Do you have excellent grades? Can you get professors to write you good letters of recommendation? Do you do any research outside of class labs? Do you have good standardized test scores? These are the factors that will allow you to pursue your goals.

thank you very much
but can you explain to me what is that mean " Can you get professors to write you good letters of recommendation?"

and lets say i get master form IIT Bombay this institute did not care about GPA
if you just succeed in GATE Exam you could continue graduate program in it
after get master from IIT can i say “now i fix every thing wrong and I’m able to get PH.d from any university in top 10 world ranking”

Can you just copy/paste from google translate? It would help both us and you understand everything…

No. Absolutely not. The rank of the school you graduate from does NOT grant you access to any future school. A top 10 university in your field will probably be in the US, and the way to get in there is to have a record of excellent grades, independent research and professors who write you good letters of recommendation. If you went to a fantastic university but have terrible grades and no research experience, there’s no chance you’ll get in.

A letter of recommendation is a letter written by someone you have worked with before who can speak to your strengths and weaknesses as a candidate. In academia, you usually ask professors of classes you did very well in and regularly spoke to, or a professor who you did research with.

Honestly, it sounds like right now, you aren’t ready for graduate school, much less a highly competitive school. You need to be a good student with a strong interest in indepedent research - graduate school isn’t just the next step in higher education, it’s a training program for future scientists, researchers and professors. The first step that you should be taking towards these goals is finding a professor who is working in the field you want to be in, and asking them to mentor and guide you. A person in your country who has found success is much more likely to be able to answer these kinds of questions and help you understand what you need to do.

thank you very much
rabbitstew
for helping me
thank you again

I really wish you good luck. It sounds like you have a much more difficult road than most of us on this message board, and you’re going to have to overcome a lot of barriers to reach your goals.

Look for professors at your university who are doing the kind of work that you would like to do someday. Speak to them about about their career paths and how they got to the position they are in now. And ask them what you can do to follow a similar path. If they are doing research, perhaps you could work your way into their lab to get more experience in the field. A professor or career/academic adviser from your university will likely be able to answer your questions much more adequately.

One thing I do believe I can say is that you do not need to attend a Top 10 graduate school to fulfill your career ambitions (unless that in itself is one of your ambitions). Just know that you can still be successful after college even if you get your degree from somewhere else.

Good luck, my friend!

I wish you luck in finding the info you’re looking for. It will be a little tricky because there are only a few people interested in international higher education systems here, most are looking only at American programs.

But I do want to tell you this. I admire you for sticking with your home country as it goes through some of its roughest years. I’m sure it’s not an entirely selfless act, there are surely great opportunities there that others are missing because they want to leave. But it’s people like you who will ensure the ancient and cultured nation of Iraq pulls through its troubles. May you and your family stay safe!

thank you very much

in last 3 days i passed very difficult time
to make a decision determines the future of education
I intended to leave the university and the start and start to study another ungraduated program of EE in Indian university
But I decided to complete the study in this university and get a bachelor’s degree in engineering
I will try to find work after the graduate, God willing,
and at the same time, i will study all the important and necessary book of engineering in mathematics and ee to improve my scientifically background in order to prepare myself to be Ready to continue study in IIT Bombay or Delhi and pass Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (Gate Exam)
this might took 2 year of hard study time
that’s my next step
First :- graduate and get as best as grads scores i could
Second after graduate i will try to find work and in then find a word and in the same time prepare myself to enter IIT in India
(i think this is the best step in my life i have ever make)
i anyone want to say any thing i really want to hear it and im waiting
thanks again
