what can i do at this point? please help ):

I will list out everything.

9th grade - 6 classes, no honors or ap. 1st semester 1 A, 5 B’s. 2nd semester 2 A’s, 1 C, 3 B’s.
10th grade - 7 classes, no honors or ap. 1st semester 6 Bs 1 A. 2nd semester 3 As 4 Bs.
11th grade (currently in this grade) - 6 classes including 1 honors class and thats it. no aps. grades n/a yet.
12th grade - on track to taking 2 honors and 3 APs. (depending on how i do junior year)

my current gpa is a 3.25… unweighted. if i get straight A’s this year, (which i strive to do), my gpa will shoot to

i took an sat practice diagnostic test at a sat prep tutor place, and i got a 1970 but i think i can get better than that.
sat breakdown:
math: 690
critical reading: 630
writing: 650

I definitely can get math to at least a 750. idk about critical reading but writing i can prolly get to at least a 700 or so.

EC: hospital volunteer, volleyball during the spring, best buddys(where you befriend special ed children) club Public Relations officer, and possibly more as this year progresses. this summer i might spend a month in taiwan teaching english to taiwanese children. hopefully i can pull that plan off.

what can i do right now to get into a good UC like davis or berkeley? i do not want to take the community college route and then transfer.

You’ll have a good shot at Davis, but try to keep your grades up this year. Those seem to be more important for UCs than for some other schools… Berkeley will be doable with a higher SAT and good Junior grades and perhaps some APs… best of luck

Your scores are right in the middle of UC Davis admitted students, but you’re going to need to pull up the GPA. http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/profile/studentProfile.pdf

Berkeley is tougher; for example, this year’s freshman class had an unweighted GPA of 3.93. http://students.berkeley.edu/admissions/freshmen.asp

For the W section, I recommend CC’er silverturtle’s guide to the SAT. Scroll down to the W section and read thoroughly through it, studying it often. Here’s a link:

The CR section is the hardest to boost. It measures interpretive ability and critical thinking skills - you can’t really study for it and increase your score by a significant amount. Just retake at the end of junior year or beginning of senior year and see what you score. The only portion of this section that you can truly prepare for are the SAT Vocabulary words, which you should study through and through. Also, buy the Blue Book (the official SAT study guide) and take all 10 practice tests: that will help. Here’s the link to purchase the Blue Book on Amazon:

[Amazon.com: The Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd edition (9780874478525): The College Board: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Official-SAT-Study-Guide-2nd/dp/0874478529)

Keep your grades up and score high on your SAT; if you can do that, you’ve got a good shot at Davis and a decent one at Berkeley, although Davis is far more likely than Berkeley at this point.

Best of luck!

Taking few honors and APs, if they were offered, alone makes things tough. You may not want to transfer, but these are formulaic schools and it’s actually an unusual blessing that those who did not get it right the first time get a second chance.
