I realized that my course load isn’t as amazing as other students who want to get in and I definitely do not participate in as many clubs/sports. I have taken 2 AP’s so far and self-studying for another AP exam. I did Key Club my sophomore year and this year (junior) I am currently enrolled in online school. Is there anything that could help me stand out from other students besides high GPA and high SAT scores? Any classes I should take during my senior year? (Not sure what I want to major in, most likely hospitality management)
If you are interested in hospitality, Cornell’s School of Hotel Management should be on your list. And for that, you should find ECs that are connected to hospitality because they want to see that you really are motivated to be in that field. Working for a restaurant, or for a hotel, or even volunteering in a hospital (with a focus on service) would be good. And write a great essay explaining why you want to be in hospitality.
Of course, if you’re not sure about your major, then maybe the SHM shouldn’t be your first choice.
