What can I expect?

I finished both of the online ACT’s with 31 on each (under timed conditions). Do you think that I can expect a score within a couple of points of this on the real thing? On the science sections I almost always find myself making last second leaps of (hopefully) good intuition, and managed to pull 31 and 32 on them. My score on the first reading section was 34, but I missed 6 on the next one( and scored a 30). My english score went up from 30 to a 33, and my math score remained constant (30).

So, are these scores genuine reflections on how I will perform, or are they totally different on the real thing? As you can see, I am very nervous about this test.

Frame, I would say you can expect a 31-33 on the real thing or higher because I scored a 29 on the real thing and only a 25 on those two tests. I think the reason is that you’re not totally focused when taking it on the computer as you are when taking it on paper.

Were these tests free or were they the ones that are part of the online ACT prep course you pay for?

Personally I think I did better on the single online test I took (the free one available at ACT.org). The print was much larger than in the test booklet though, which might have helped. I scored a 35E/34R on it.

But then I got the real act prep book to study from and have only scored 31-34 on E and 29-33 on R. Perhaps since the test booklet has the 2004-2005 tests, which are more recent, they are a bit harder? I don’t know.

My advice is to not worry about it and just do your best. Worrying about your score now is just going to tie your stomach in knots for the big test tomorrow.
