New sports bar restaurant near my house has excellent $10 lunch specials and free cake for dessert on Mondays! This will be dangerous.

I was at an old fashioned family style restaurant today for a meeting. Their lunch specials were all $10.50. I thought about this thread. I did not want fish and chips or a hot turkey sandwich or a chicken cutlet “burger” or a half tuna sandwich with a cup of soup, but I could have one one for under $12! I had a veggie omelet for $13 instead.

Yep, I now notice whenever a restaurant has anything under $12! We recently took out from a new Mexican “bowl” place by us (like an independent Chipotle) and I noticed our meals were all under $12.

So I ordered the strawberry salad with French onion soup. (Here’s a pic after I ate part of the soup). My friend had the steak salad and a baked potato. I took my salad home. The meal was $9.99 but I had coffee, which was $3.35!!
