What can you tell me about these schools...?

Hello, I am junior and I’m currently looking into schools. I’m from Ohio and I plan on going out of state. I’m just wondering how these campuses are day to day. What do you like about it? What do you hate about it? What clubs are you in? Hows the food? Any diversity? Whats the average class size of introductory classes? What opportunities are there for undergraduate research? How many students at the college get internships? Anything unique about the campus? Why did you decide to go to that college? Any information is useful! I prefer a student, alumni, or someone with great knowledge on a school. If you don’t go to one of these schools listed below, just list your school and tell about it! I would love to hear about your college!

UMass Lowell is incredibly underrated and has a rather excellent Engineering program.

Astronaut Gus Grissom, the second American in space who later died in the Apollo 1 fire, went to Purdue.

You have Kansas State down - I’m will be going to Wichita State University in fall. I just visited the campus last week and really liked it. Not too big, not too small. Being from the southwest, it was unique to have so many brick buildings, but that’s probably just me. The people seemed really nice and their aerospace engineering program sounds great. There’s a rocketry club and flying club I plan on joining…

You should post your list of questions on the respective forum for each college, and also read those forums, which might already contain the info you seek. Asking for a huge amount of input on each of 33 schools in a single post is a poor way of utilizing CC.

I agree with MommaJ…ask in each forum. Also get the “Fiske guide to colleges” (or check it out from your library) and it will have a great overview of each college.

Also you can google each college’s “Common data set” to get oodles of info

You put down University of Maryland Baltimore County, I go to UMD College Park (the flagship)! I don’t know if you’ve looked into it but shameless plug- it’s a great place. UMBC is kind of a commuter school and not many out of state people but at UMD you’ll fit right in (I’m out of state too). It’s a great school with lots of really highly ranked programs and it’s big enough that no matter what kind of person you are, you’ll find your niche here. I highly recommend checking it out.

@ramenaddict I will look into. I saw that the acceptance rate is 47%. That is really challenging to get into. Does the school care a lot about extracurriculars on the application? I know the GPA and ACT play a huge role in the school. Thanks!
