Anything not aviation related

“I will never be a doctor. I personally believe that I’d want a doctor who’s a doctor because they love to help people; not because it’s the prized profession to their culture (this is common with many asian cultures, they find medicine to be very secure and respectful.) I don’t want someone practicing on me because they like the respect or money that comes with the job, they’ve gotta have genuine passion for it.”

Uh… it’s a prized profession no matter where you go.
Do you have a problem with asian doctors or something?

Asians take large chunks not only of medicine but also of law, engineering, science, and business. Nobody goes to anything just because it’s a “prized profession to their culture”.

Maybe it’s not a “culture” thing. It’s a personal thing.

I want to be a surgeon because I enjoy cutting things open more than anything in the world. And putting them back together, of course–but cutting things open is just. plain. FUN. A lifetime of fun!

I don’t want to be a stay-at-home mother. My worst nightmare is the thought of being 35, with four bratty kids and a dirty house. Not being a professional…shudder (My mother is a housewife, and there’s a reason why I hate the thought of being one.)

I don’t want to be a researcher. The mouse experiments are interesting, but I couldn’t handle not meeting and interacting with large numbers of people. I love working with people, which is the one thing keeping me from the job of a forensic mortician.

You get to solve crimes and dissect dead bodies! What could be more fun?

btw: I’m a first-born Asian girl, and my father seriously asked me to consider not going to medical school and instead, doing business or diplomatic work. We’re very traditional in terms of values, but he and my mother understand and are concerned about the amount of stress a doctor undergoes. Me, I’m headed for the fun!

I’m passionate about being a surgeon!

hmmm…anything but pure mathematics. applied math I can do, but theoretical math makes me want to cry

tebro: “I want to be a surgeon because I enjoy cutting things open more than anything in the world. And putting them back together, of course–but cutting things open is just. plain. FUN. A lifetime of fun!”

Remind me never to be your patient ;).

holy crap… i forgot another one i wouldn’t want to be

A priest/reverend or whatever they are

I believe that they can’t have sex

I’m not exactly the most pious person, but i’m not an atheist either

probably get corrupted along the way = condemned to hell

sounds boring

Not going to be:
-an engineer
-someone with a MBA (depressing!)
-something math related
-something where I don’t get to talk to people and have to sit at a desk allllllll the time

Not likely:
-medicine… would be interesting, and MSF would be so cool to be a part of, but I find hospitals really depressing

Very likely:
-diplomacy
-international law
-international something else (working with the UN, with NGOs, something like that)
-politics (foreign affairs… you guessed it!)
-teaching
-a philosophy bum
-journalism
or… if all fails…
-a travel guide-book writer

A big thing for me though, is travel. I am passionate about it. If I don’t get to travel, time to travel, or enough money to travel… it is not the job for me :)

Surgeon
Public School teacher
retailer or saleswoman

never.

I would wait tables for the rest of my life before I would do any of the following:

Attorney - Too many ethical dilemmas. People always tell me I’d make a great one, but my soul is not for sale. I’d make a good assassin, too …

Accountant - Can you say “stultifying?”

Physician - “It was the world’s noblest profession until the insurance pigs took over.” (Quote from a neurosurgeon.)

Corporate Cubicle Dweller - I would absolutely jump off the roof of the nearest corporate building if I could look into a crystal ball and see my future chained to a desk in some fluorescent lit hell. Galley slaves, I say!

Paralegal - See Lawyer, Accountant, and Cubicle Dweller x3. One of my theatre teachers did this part-time during her lean years and it wasn’t pretty. She quit and went back to waiting tables.

Why is everyone down on being an engineer man
they create the world that never was
that’s better than a liberal arts loser if you ask me anyday

-coporate cubicle drone
-stay at home mom
-high school English or art teacher
-anything overly business related
-anything in the clergy
-anything that’s just dealing with people all day (like public relations or something)

mathmetician…janitor…some lower ladder service job…

Murderer, Thief…

:)

I could not be a preacher, priest or anything affiliated with organized religion. Lawyer, social worker, cop, or anything criminal related is out. I could not be in business at all.
I could be a doctor or a teacher. If I were to become a teacher I’d have to be paid a decent wage.
Writing travel guides seems like an awesome career maybe after being a doctor.

Physicist. Electrician. Plumber. President.

Theater—my acting id ok, but sheez i just wouldn’t want to act for a living

Well, as a girl, I can tell you 100% that I will not be a Catholic priest. Anything else, your guess is as good as mine.
