<p>This summer I did research at NYU-Poly college under a phd candidate and a few undergrads. I wanted to invite my mentor to be a recommender but I do not know which category he will fall under. Is he a teacher or does he fall in ‘Other’? What sub-category in ‘Other’?</p>
<p>You asked this question someplace else already… he is definitely “other”. The Teacher categories are for your high school teachers that the colleges are specifically asking for. I don’t have a kid with a Common App this year, what are the “other” categories that are available this year?</p>
<p>The ‘Other’ Category further divides into:
Clergy,
Coach,
College Access Counselor,
Employer,
Family Member,
Peer, and
Other</p>
<p>Also, How do you know if I was the one who asked this question? Just curious.</p>
<p>Can’t tell… but this question was just asked in the last couple of hours…maybe it wasn’t you, I didn’t go check. But you are not denying, I notice. 
If you were paid for the work, list him as an employer. Otherwise, list as “Other” within Other.</p>
