What class should son drop?

Hi all -

My son waitlisted for 2 classes now he got them both! So now he must drop one of these 3 classes. Anyone have any advice or had any of these professors? Where is that grading course guide link that someone (Calcruzer?) posted a while back?

Oh, also my son informed me that he was thinking of joining a frat even though I had hoped he would wait. He did take AP Psycology and took a film studies course in high school and he enjoyed both classes and will probably take the one he drops in the future anyway. Thank you for your comments.

CLMC C205 Intro communication with Terrill
PSY-P 101 Intro to Psycology with Charles Seger
CLMC C290 Hollywood I with Gregory Waller

Here’s the link you were asking for:

[Grade Distribution Database: Office of the Registrar: Indiana University Bloomington](http://registrar.indiana.edu/gradedist.shtml)

Based upon the information given there, your son should definitely take the class with Waller–who had a 3.0 average in that class the last time he taught it.

He should probably drop Seger’s class–since Seger gave 5 Ds, 10 Fs, and had 7 people drop (out of a class of 102) when he last taught the Psychology 101 class.

Terrill appears to be either a new teacher, or a graduate student who will teaching the class. As a result there are no statistics about him/her. Given Seger’s statistics, however, I’d opt for taking my chances with Terrill as opposed to Seger.

Best of success to your son with his courses.

P.S. One other option is for your son to attend all of the classes for their first session–and then drop either Seger or Terrill’s class prior to the end of the first week. The class to be dropped can then be chosen by your son based upon his experience after attending each professor’s class and seeing their class syllabus.

Thanks Calcruzer, will pass this info on to my son. I agree with you to drop Seger - he gave out a LOT of Fs! The final must have been a killer. However, he makes the final decision.

I check Terrill on Rate my Prof.com and he got mixed reviews -they either liked him or didn’t.
