What classes do I register for?

I am currently signed up for Faset 2 and I am trying to figure out what classes I need to sign up for. I don’t want to be overwhelmed, but I don’t want to fall behind either. What classes make a good, not incredibly difficult, first semester?

I am a CS major btw

Right now I have credit for the following

Chem 1211k
Chem 1212k
English 1101
English 1102
Psych 1101
US History
European History
Computer Science 1301? (possibly)

What do I sign up for?
And is there any advantage to going to an earlier faset. I think I’m going to change to Faset 5 if there isn’t.

just curious…how did you get credit for 1102?!

I’d suggest:

[Humanities class] - 3 credit hours
CS 1301 or CS 1331 (depending on whether you get credit) - 3 credit hours
HPS 1040 - 2 credit hours
CS 1100 (required) - 1 credit hour
CS 1050 - 3 credit hours
[Lab Science] OR [Social Science] - 4 or 3 credit hours

Thanks maea; I just have a few questions.

Does cs 1050 have a prereq?
Would it be better to do that instead of talking calc?

And swan, those credits are like half AP and half community college from this summer.

And about Faset, I just want to try to avoid morning classes (8 am). Would I have just as much luck with this at Faset 2 as I would at Faset 5?

Nope

Eep! In my potential schedule for you I forgot Calculus! D’oh. Replace one of the GEs or CS1050 with Calc. CS1050 is required, but many people take it in their second or third semester at Tech, so don’t feel a strong need to take that.

Supposedly Tech saves room in every freshman class for each Faset group. However, nobody knows the extent to which this is true, so I’d say go to an earlier Faset if it’s not too big of a hassle.

[GT Catalog : Browse by College School Program or Degree](http://www.catalog.gatech.edu/academics/degree.php)

Go there, pick the degree program you want, click “undergraduate” in the left-hand menu if not already unfolded, click “degree requirements” and it will give a “recommended schedule.”

If you’re in engineering, the the CS elective is 1371 (Computing for Engineers). CS 1301 is for Science majors, Liberal Arts, and Computer Science. Chem 1211K and 1212K are for chemistry majors. All others take CHEM 1310.
