Hi im currently a high school junior looking to attend berkeley or northwestern and study economics and minor in sustainability or entrepreneurship…current UW gpa is a 3.95 (class rank 7)
so far the ap classes ive taken are
ap human (9th)
ap capstone seminar (10th)
ap bio (10th)
ap world (10th)
apush (11th)
ap enviro (11th)
ap calc ab (11th)
ap lang (11th)
ap capstone research (11th)
so my question is since im not majoring in science can i double up on maths and take ap calc bc and ap stats next year or should i take ap calc bc & ap chem or ap stats and ap chem??? i cant really find what berkeley and northwestern prefer/look for. so PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU
I see no reason why you would need to take AP Chem. If your target colleges were more selective and required 4 years of science, I would have said that if you double up, it should not be at the expense of another core subject. But since UCB and Northwestern (which are reaches for you anyway) only ask for 2 years of science, it should be fine. Although if there were a non-science AP that were remotely interesting, I might see if you could fit it in. If not, no big deal as I think calc + stats would be more beneficial for you in the long run.
You should have taken Bio, Chem, and Physics in some form and hopefully an AP version of those.
If you have not taken those three, I would take the one you are missing. I would have said not to take AP Enviro if you didn’t have all of those.
If you have taken 4 sciences, then go for the Stats.
