Im in a little bit of a unique situation. I am a smart kid but haven’t done much to demonstate it. I have decent ECs; having achieved states in two activities and regionals in a varsity sport. I am the captain of the two clubs I went to states in. By the time I am done with high school I will have taken 9 APs. I have varied in my performance. Earning a 5 in both histories and anticipating a 5 in both US and Comparative Gov. In these two I’ve ended with a B and an A respectively. I have a 1300 SAT. I know I could do better but I have testing anxiety (at home I get 1450-80s). My overall GPA is very low with a 3.3 unweighted. And in this lies my problem. I can probably get one excellent recommendation and one decent one. Unfortunately, not many schools seem to fit me. Colleges are either too selective and will look past a 3.3 or are not great institutions and would be a waste of money and my effort to attend. Personally, I don’t have a great work ethic but I know I can turn it around in college because Ill be away from home. I live in virginia and so it would be cheaper to go to school there but I would actually prefer to go out of state due to the family situation. Please let me know which college match me or what I can do to get into a school I would actually like.
