what college major/career?

I’m going into my my first year at a flagship public university and I have no idea what I want to do so I want opinions

Here are some things that I want in a career field (from most to least important):
Flexibility in requirements (so fields with very strict licensing/professional schools I tend to avoid, for example, I don’t want to worry about one MIP charge disqualifying me from the Bar Exam or Med School)

$$$$$ at least able to provide around an upper-middle class lifestyle >60k maybe? (not to start)

Able to provide advancement

What kind of careers/major should I look into? I have no idea. No big passions. I got a full ride to the school so I qualify for any department but I have no idea. Please help!

You got a full ride and you have no idea what you want to do? I didn’t know they did that…

Seriously…?

If you want to start out with a high salary, avoid most humanities majors. Something like finance, computer science, or engineering would probably be your best bet.

There are career assessments you can take that would help you identify some careers that are a good match for you. The Focus Assessment is the main one that comes to mind. I think you have to register through your university’s website though, because the assessment is tailored to the specific university that you attend.

If you’re math/science oriented, I’d go for computer science, math, engineering, or another science field. If you’re not, go for business (though it depends on your school, for example the business school at UW is prestigious, but I don’t know how yours is).
