What college options do I have?

I am looking for a college either in Dallas (area), New York, Chicago, or Miami.
I need a harder college, so which one would be best?
UTD, UNT, UT of Arlington, SMU?
I plan to double major in mechanical engineering, and Arabic, and major in business. I cannot pay for all of my college. I hope to get a scholarship. I have a 3.9 and Im graduating a year early. No colleges “list” Arabic as a major but as a modern language, or independent study. This is confusing to me. Help is appreciated.

You say you can’t afford to pay for all of your college. How much can you afford to pay? Thats what you need to figure out first. Also what are your stats? (gpa and test scores).

Im sure I can pay 15 thousand without scholarships. My test scores are 1950

And 26 ACT.
My GPA is 3.9

Are you a TX resident? What was your class rank? Just noticed you said HARDER college. That means you are a transfer. From where?

What does this mean? If you plan to double major in engineering/business, your studies will be sufficiently “hard” no matter where you go to college.

I would suggest that you NOT graduate a year early and plan to retake your ACT and take the SAT in order to bring improve your stats for college admission. The 26 ACT will make it “hard” to get accepted into highly competitive colleges (if that is what you are talking about by “hard”).

Since your original post is not about financial aid, you might want to put it on the parents’ forum (if you want parent feedback).

Don’t graduate early. You need higher scores. Are you a citizen. If so which state are you in.

Also did you mean minor in business? If so look closely at some engineering school websites, it can be difficult to double major in Engineering and you are talking about double majoring AND getting a minor…stay in school one more year and spend some time figuring out the finances, how classes line up in various colleges etc and also use that time to see if you can up your scores alittle bit in order to have the best shot at merit scholarships. Agree about the use of your word “hard”…engineering isn’t easy no matter where you go…
