I am a Junior now and want to learn about beef cattle. I want to learn how to sort, buy, and background them. I have grew up around this so i know alot already but still it always pays off to learn more. What college is best for this Texas A&M or Mizzou or what is the best Ag Beef cattle college. Also what do i major in for that i cant find out what would be my best major.

You would probably want to major in Animal Science. Most schools will then allow you to have an emphasis in beef, pork, equine etc.

Other options for a major could include Ranch Management or Ag business if you want to lean more toward running an operation.

There are several good universities for Animal Science. Texas A&M is a well known school but Mizzou is also supposed to be good. I am more familiar with U of Wisconsin-Madison and U of Wisconsin-River Falls.

If finances are an issue you would probably want to look at your in-state ag schools and what they offer.

The University of Wyoming has amazing departments of agriculture and animal science, you should check them out!
