I’m junior in high school and I recently took an SAT, scoring the following:
CR: 550
Math: 590
Writing: 600
Giving me a score of 1740
I currently have a GPA weighted of approximately 4.02.
I am fully aware that my score is extremely low to be accepted into top schools like UChicago and Columbia.
I’m curious as to know where I stand right now.
Are you not interesting in taking again? The curves for the next 3 sats are rumored to be VERY generous and getting scores in the 600s on each section would make you competitive for more schools.
@a20171,what do you mean? Are you referring to the new SAT because the one I took was the last SAT with the old format?

What state are you in?
I agree with prepping and taking the new SAT and the ACT, but if you don’t look at state schools, test optional schools, religious schools, hbcus, less competitive privates and lacs lots of options.
Impossible with your current scores. For those two schools you mentioned, shoot for scores over 750 in each section. I would say the same with the new sat (750 for each of the 2 sections). UChicago’s 25% mark for class of 2019 was M+CR 1450 (old test) – yours is 1140. And you want to be above their 50% mark to have much of a shot. Columbia is similar, you can Google their score ranges.
If you can bring your scores up somewhat, but not as much, consider Lawrence in Wisconsin (assuming from your name you are interested in physics).

Re #6, note that the schools are not ranked by their standardized scores. Should you be interested in a ranking of colleges on this basis, consider “The 610 Smartest Colleges,” Business Insider.
There are a few schools outside of top 50 in USNWR ranking which will admit you with those scores. It would hard to get into any schools in top 50 although you seem to be concentrating on top 5.
