Weighted, my GPA is a 3.91. It is a 3.57 unweighted. Also, I am a white male, so there are no minority scholarships. The only schools I would have legacy at are Youngstown State and Providence College. I know I’m not interested in YSU, and I’m not sure about Providence.

Thank you,
Andrew

Syracuse for journalism.

Although that’s a great school, it is bigger than what I want. Are there any you know of with less than 5,000?

Sorry, the people I know went to Syracuse, Missouri, Wash. St. U, and UC Berkeley - all big, but great J schools.

Hmm you’re ap scores arent the best. You’re awards are pretty not pretty extremely impressive. You’re SAT score is considerably good for some schools, but for others not the best. Then again, most schools say they “dont admit by the score” so ya never know. I’d say NYU College of Arts and Sciences, they dont require SAT Scores to be submitted. If not, try amherst, or penn state!

@ Magnetron, That’s okay. They are all great schools, especially for those looking for a larger university. Thank you for the suggestions, though!

@ Learnerforlife, In terms of my A.P. scores, I was not planning on submitting them to the colleges. Some awards that I have I did not list, but my main focus has really been community service. I think that I can hopefully improve my SAT score considerably, as I am only a junior currently so I will most likely take the SAT and ACT several times. Also, I’m looking for smaller schools so do you know of any small schools that might be a good fit? I was thinking in terms of Berry, Elon, Drew, Furman, and Davidson. What other extracurricular activities would be beneficial to get involved in? The problem with me not having so many organizations and clubs on my resume is partially due to the lack of availability of these at my school. While I’m happy to be at a small private high school, unfortunately we do not have quite everything that larger public schools do. Thank you for your advice, though!

@ Learnerforlife, Sorry to reply twice, but since my resume will really be so focused on the activities I have participated in through community service, should I put them on a separate part of the application? I’m confused as to how that would work. Also, I really hope that my list of activities and awards doesn’t look bad…
