I was wondering what colleges do you guys think I can get accepted too. I think I want to go into investment banking, I don’t know if i really want to do it, or if I want to do it just for the money. I might want to do chemical engineering or Real estate. Those are my 3 choices of what I want to do as of this moment.

Here are my grades
English - 91
US- 99
Sociology-96
Math- 79
Chem- 90
Spanish-89
International Foods- 96
Gym- 99

Dont take any AP’s/Honors

Im an African American junior, go to a public school on Long Island, NY. Just looking for some safety’s/matches in the North Easter/Midwest area. Mostly northeast though. Do you think I should change my major from Finance into going to Investment Banking. A job with that type of money would let me achieve my goal of living and buying a million dollar condo in Manhattan and being able to travel to Europe.

You could always try Finance, and if you don’t like it, just switch majors. Almost everyone changes their mind at least once, so it’s okay to explore your options.

If your goal is to work in Manhattan, going to college nearby could help get you the right internships and connections. NYU is great if you can get in. Also try Fordham, and maybe Hofstra.

I haven’t taken the SAT/ACT. Taking it at the end of this school year. My school offers lots of AP courses but I don’t know if they’ll let me take them. I’m going to try to take at least one in my senior year.

Fordham and Hofstra sound good. But the problem is, I don’t know if I will be happy living anywhere but Manhattan after college.

Living in the suburbs/country when your 20 seems really boring to me. What are you guys perspective.

Thanks for the recommendations Hofstra and Fordham look nice. But Hofstra seems more like a commuter school, and i am looking for more residential types.

Well your courseload isn’t too rigorous. You really should try getting into an AP or 2 next year. You could look at a lot of the SUNY schools… Also hard to tell what schools will fit into your academic range because you haven’t taken an SAT/ACT yet

Yeah, I know about the SUNY’s but I was wondering if I can squeeze into some private schools in NY/PA/CT/MASS/NJ. Im moving to PA next year, so I want to try to go to some schools over their also.

You have a VERY broad range of interests (chem E, Ibanking, and Real estate). Ibanking probably isnt such a good idea for you- your math is somewhat low, and unless you go to a top school, you aren’t promised much.

Possibly rutgers?

Take hard classes!!

PS: work on your grammar!!! “what colleges is good for me”
