What do you consider horrible? (CC horrible or US horrible)

class rank (if you have one)? public or private HS?

and what is your home state?

Thanks for responding -

My ACT score is 24
Home state is Maryland
I attend a private school

Have you looked at UMBC? May be a good match and I believe an up and coming school. Price is right.

There are so many schools out there. As far as under 30,000, that is the tough part to figure out because you could get merit aid (yes, merit aid with your stats is possible) to bring the cost down to 30,000, but you won’t know until you apply (unless a school has a chart posted telling you what you will get in merit aid in advance). Also, I don’t know if your family can get financial aid. If a school’s sticker price is 42,000 and you end up with 12,000 in merit aid, you have a school that will cost 30,000 before loans or financial aid grants.

Try Saint Mary’s College of Maryland. It is a state liberal arts school in a nice location.

jlevi93, there are many colleges which do not require SAT or ACT scores. see:

[Optional List | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest)

Find a few schools on this list that meet your other criteria. There is a college for everyone. Do your homework, and you will be satisfied a year from now.

Some schools with rolling admissions will likely accept you IF you apply early in the app season. Schools with rolling admissions are often more lenient with early applicants.

Are you limiting yourself to those 3 states?

What else do you want in a school? Quiet campus? Rah rah campus with sports to watch? City setting? Rural setting?

What is your likely major?

St. Mary’s is a reach-70% of the kids have GPAs over 3.5 and an ACT of 24 is at the bottom of the accepted range.

What about attending Montomgery Community College for a year or two, saving some money, and then transfering to a four year school?
