What colleges should I apply to

Hi, I live in Florida and I just got my psat score back I’m a junior in hs. I got a 172 which equivalates to me getting a 1720 on the SAT if I were to take it now. I strongly feel that I could raise my score to a 2100 or even higher. I plan on doing practice tests non stop as soon as I finish my midterms coming up next week. I will probably take my first sat and act in March or April. The main issue with college search is that I have a 3.5 gpa weighted, please help me find a school that I have a chance to get in to. I want to do international business as I have always been a businessman selling stuff since I was 9 and creating an online store at 12.i would like a university that is well known and that has a nice campus. Thanks in advanced.

Is there a specific area of the country you want to be in? In-state vs. out-of-state? Do you prefer city or country life? I would narrow your search down to a region or maybe price range or whether or not the school has a particular extracurricular activity first rather than just ‘a school with International Business’. Your past with selling will help you out and will make more schools available to you as well.

Just so you know, it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll raise your score from 1720 to 2100. Only 2% student ever get to 2100. However, with a lot of practice (see the “test” section on this website, LOTS of good tips), you can probably reach 1900. Use 1720 as your default (ie., the universities that you like and that you find for this score) will become your safeties once your score increases.
An obvious answer for Business in Florida is Rollins. Have you visited?
Run the Net Price Calculator and bring the results to your parents (ie., the amount your family and you would have to pay - this determination depends on EACH college and their formula, so you have to run the NPC on each website).
Ask your parents: Is it within budget? If not, WHAT is the exact budget? (Don’t let them fudge with “we’ll see in the Spring”… this never ends well).
