What colleges should I be looking at?

Can anyone sort of place me in a range of schools that I can apply to? (safety, reach etc)

Background:
Higher end of the income bracket
Private school all years of schooling ($30,000+/year tuition)
No legacies
Not first gen

4.2 GPA
SAT I- 780 writing, 790 math, 780 CR
SAT II- 800 bio, 800 physics, 770 french
class rank fluctuates between 1 to 3 out of 170
I have a feeling I’ll get… not so good teacher recommendations as I’m lazy in class/most teachers don’t enjoy teaching me

extra-curriculars aren’t anything TOO special:
head of jrotc
concert classical guitar for 4 years
rugby team (not captain)
field hockey team (not captain)
athletics club (not head)
shooting club (not head)
summer volunteer work
internship at accounting firm
more summer volunteer work…

pretty average tbh, maybe in typing this it all sounds a bit more impressive than it is but i don’t think i’d be top 5%

also, is there anything i can do right now to improve my application? (im a junior)

oh yeah and besides a honorary scholarship thing they give in my school i have no real academic honors/prizes

What do you plan to major in?

since there are so many colleges it’s hard to find specific ones that would be reaches/matches/safeties for you since you haven’t really listed what you’re interested in, but you seem like a strong applicant for most schools, so good job! to get to tier 1 schools you should work on getting more leadership positions and look into how you can get more awards to make you stand out, but you seem to be doing a great job so far. :)

Either economics or political science
