what colleges should i shoot for?

I’m going to be a senior in high school and i am now looking at colleges. I have a 3.8 weighted gpa (3.5 unweighted) and a 1800 sat score. As far as ec. goes i play varsity football and track and field. I also am a devoted catholic and attend mass regularly. I am interested in studying business. what universities should i apply to that i might get into?

Babson is a school that is totally business-oriented and might be possible. Many students considering a master’s in business just major in economics because looking at schools with undergraduate business schools really limits your choices if you are at all interested in small liberal arts schools. RPI might be possible.

Notre Dame (which I assume you’ve heard of)

University of Dallas: for kids who couldn’t get into Notre Dame, or were too conservative for it. (I know a graduate. That’s her one-sentence summary of it. It’s a pretty good school.)

I am on the West Coast so I would recommend Santa Clara University in the Bay Area and University of San Diego (Catholic, as well). Also, Boston College is a great Catholic college and the Carroll School of Management at BC is one of the top business programs in the country.

Where do you live? Do you want to be nearby?

Are you looking to go to a public or private school? And is it important if it’s a Catholic school?

UC Irvine has a pretty good business program. My friend (business major) will be starting there in the fall and had an 1800 on her SAT and a 3.9 weighted GPA. Pretty similar statistics.

Marquette University is a Jesuit school. They have a decent business program as well. I got in with a 1750 on my SAT and a 3.7 GPA. Honestly though, what are you looking for in a school?

well it really does not matter if its a catholic school. i live in los angeles so i want to be somewhat close to home…

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it
