What colleges would be a target with a 26 ACT score?

On the ACT, I got a 30 on the reading, 26 on English comp, 21 on math, 26 on science, and a 29 on the writing portion. Overall, I was given a composite of 26. I didn’t study and most likely could’ve done a lot better if I opened the practice book once or twice- this was my first time taking it as well. Math is (clearly) my worst subject, and I plan to get a tutor and take the test once more in September.

I was just wondering, what schools would be target schools for me as of right now with a 26 ACT composite and a 3.5/3.6 GPA? If it makes any difference I have strong extracurriculars (multiple National Honor Societies and service clubs). I’ve been looking into Providence College and Salve Regina Univeristy, but could I have a chance somewhere like BU? I’m planning to major in psychology and minor in English. Any suggestions for northeastern or southeastern (NC/SC) schools would be appreciated!

A 26 ACT may get you into BU CGS, but not the other schools at BU.

Muhlenberg, Susquehanna, Fairfield, St. Bonaventure, Siena, St. Michael’s, St. Anselm, U Scranton, Clark, St. Lawrence, Marist might be options.

Elon, Loyola MD, High Point

Many small Catholic colleges would be a fit, as would HBCUs. However, if you need merit money would you need to raise the score.
Have/will you take the SAT? Some students do better on one than the other.

Why didn’t you study for the exam?
