<p>I am from Paraguay. I will pursue a career in business.
I have an UW 3.57 GPA (2.7 freshman, 4.0 sophomore, 4.0 junior). I know, my freshman year ruined me, the classes in the school I attended were terribly hard, and the teachers were awful. I know it’s no excuse, but 36 people out of 40 failed Algebra I.
I have a 750 in critical reading, 750 in math, and 730 in writing.
I have weak extracurriculars.
I have done around 180 hours of charity work in 2 different organizations. I am really passionate about this.
I also practice painting, drawing, and tennis, but I do not have any national, or even local recognition.
But besides that, I’m not part of any club (my school doesn’t offer any).
My family can contribute 30.000$/year for college. I am aware that most colleges cost an average of 60,000$/year, so I will need 30,000$ scholarships (do I even stand a chance of getting one?)
In my sophomore year, I did not take any AP or honors classes (I didn’t even know they existed then, I was never adviced to take one. Only for my junior year my counselor started advicing me to take them). In my junior year, I took AP Psychology, AP Microeconomics, Honors Chemistry, Honors Algebra II, French II, and Honors American Literature. In my Senior year I am taking AP Macroeconomics, Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Philosophy, AP Environmental Science, and French III, though I know Senior year doesn’t count much.
In your opinion, what schools would consider me?
Georgetown is my top choice, but I know it’s a stretch reach. I am clueless about what other schools might accept me and grant me 30,000$ worth of scholarships. Could you introduce me to any?

<p>G’town only gives a limited amount of need-based scholarships to int’ls…and they determine the need after looking over your parents’ income and assets. </p>
<p>If you’re looking for some merit based scholarships to supplement your parents’ $30k, then you need to apply to the schools that give them to int’ls.</p>
<p>Frankly, if your parents can pay $30k per year, then chances are your family is well-off and perhaps schools here will determine that you have little need.</p>
<p>No. We’ve been saving for a long time, and the 30k budget includes loans they are going to make. We’re not poor, but we’re not rich either. I think I am eligible for need-based financial aid.</p>
