@MomofWildChild Can you point me to that? Were you referring to just the general email sign-up or something specific to this Dunkin Donut sneaker availability? I’m on the site and can’t find it although I did sign up for the sweepstakes.
^^^ I did it over a week ago. I found where the Dunkin shoe was and it said you could sign up to be notified when there were more. If I recall, it was hard to find the shoe on the site.
@MomofWildChild Found it. You had to try to buy the shoe and then it told you it was out of stock and gave you the “notify when available” option. Thanks.
Several co’s made Boston shoes this year. Most of these are sold out!

Recently (last, oh, five years) i’ve owned blue-and-white Nikes, black Nikes, crimson/yellow/white Brooks, and now these white K-Swiss.
Rats. The Boston Adidas men’s shoe is all sold out in smaller sizes. Runner ladies know this little secret…
So where do you all buy your athletic (as in actual exercise) shoes? There is a local running store that I would use if I were a serious runner. I use my shoes for treadmill/elliptical and weights etc at the gym. I have shopped at DSW, Nike outlet, Kohls etc over the years.
I rotate three pairs of Wilson tennis shoes (required at work) in berry, teal, and kind of a dark royal blue. For walking and casual wear, I have three pairs of Nikes in sort of a black /gray tweed, pink and black. I see very few white sneakers in my world.
Running store or online (if I know the model I want) for running shoes.
Online or Nordstrom Rack for more casual/low activity athletic shoes. (online: Amazon, 6pm, Zappos, Nike)
I find that the running shoes I want for fit and performance are always in screaming ugly colors. I don’t know who wants combinations of fluorescent orange and yellow on their feet. Does the whole market consist of women who are running at night by the side of the road? I wear lots of bright colors in general, but the shoes are just hideous.
I do believe the neon colors are a trend that is on its way out. I first saw it years ago with Nike which, whether you like them or not, is a trendsetter. If you look up the newest releases of athletic shoes by the large companies like Nike and Adidas, you’ll see a color palette leaning towards whites, neutrals, and pastels with some blacks/grays in the mix.
You guys all crack me up with brands of tennis shoes and worrying about whites getting dirty. In all the years I wore tennis shoes (always white), I just threw them in the washer weekly. No clue what brand they were, but never, ever more than a few dollars. @SevenDad: Glad to see you off the prep school forum giving fashion advice where needed.
I am highly influenced by the look of a shoe - first probably over fit which is vain. Of course I won’t get a shoe if it isn’t a great fit, but if I don’t like the look, I won’t even try it on. I do like color but @Hanna I am with you on some of the swirly very multicolored shoe looks.
Agree with doschicos. Nike tennis kits have just gone from neon pink and neon yellow to very pale pink, very light gray, white with black trim and a drab green (called clay green) for spring. The shoes they wear with these colors are now following suit.
I’m thrilled that they aren’t making everyone look like a giant highlighter anymore.
I usually get my workout shoes at Road Runner Sports (I am not a runner, but typically wear running shoes to gym and to walk). I am happy the very bright colors appear to be on their way out.
Totally random and kind of unrelated to this thread, but I read the biography of the Nike shoe guy within the last year or so. It was pretty good.
And I think the loud running shoe trend is now transferred to workout leggings or tights. I still wear mostly black or black with a small stripe or detail, but I see a lot of women at the gym in heavily patterned tights. Just doesn’t work for me personally, although they look okay.
When I first got back into exercise I went to the local running store and got fitted. The shoe that worked best for me only came in a couple of colors so it limited my options. After that I ordered the same shoe online from Zappos. For my tennis shoes I first went to a tennis shop a couple hours from home and tried on shoes. I now order them online from them. For casual sneakers I look at Nordstrom. My trail runners came from REI. My current exercise shoes I wear for running, gym and walking are all Hoka brand. I buy them from the Hoka store at the Deckers showcase store. It is local to my area and I find it’s best to be able to try them on.
My oldest is a intense exerciser and she likes ASICS which she buys from Zappos or the ASICS outlet,
I buy the SAS shoes at the SAS store when we fly to SF. I only buy black leather walking shoes. For the shoes on the rowing machine, will buy whatever shoes there are at Costco that fit and look decent. Nylon and any color are fine as only H and I will see them. Mainly, I want comfort and protection.
When I buy exercise shoes for D, will take her to small local shoe store where they take time to fit her well or running shoe store where they have good inventory and trained staff.
H buys shoes from SAS and Costco as well.

This thread must have had an effect on me.
Originally, I was going to buy the bright green version of this shoe, but I decided to buy the slate color. You guys peer pressured me. :-j
