New dress, new sandals, all new color for me. I have a wedding this weekend and need to head to the nail salon tomorrow. It’s a twice yearly treat for me, so I am not as well versed on colors outside of my beachy, summery colors. The dress is a dark midnight blue lace (almost looks black), sandals are strappy patent leather/same dark blue. Silver rhinestone accessories or pearls- I haven’t fine tuned that. I am thinking some kind of pale, pale pink? Or is there a dark shade that will work. Would you do hands and feet in the same shade? Thanks in advance
I would do silver. It’s a beautiful neutral, and would go beautifully with navy. Here’s an example, so many out there.
I wore a dark blue lace dress to a wedding last year and had a French manicure.
I don’t remember what color i used on my toes but probably bright pink.
Ask your manicurist. Mine helps me pick colors when I’m not sure what I want.
OPI Dutch Tulips…it’s a nice red that matches EVERYTHING.
I started a post about nail polish color last week. You’ll find many color suggestions there in the neutral vein. I went with OPI Samoan Sand.
I would do a pale neutral manicure, asking the manicurist to help choose a shade that’s good with your coloring, and something bolder for your toes.
Tell us what you decided!
I thank everybody for their replies. I am going to probably pick a light to medium pink shade, on the cool side. I raided the kids bathroom and gathered all the shades of polish we have in the house and put them up to my dress. I will ask the manicurist, but they seem to always be in a hurry to get going that they “yes, yes, yes” me. I usually like to take my time to decide things and consider allllll of my options!
Here’s the end result…I had the manicurist sample OPI Mod About You on my pinkie, gel polish. I liked it. Then she painted my feet with regular lacquer in the same shade. It was a bit too bright, almost fluorescing. So we decided I should choose something lighter for my fingers and we selected IBD Juliet, gel. I really like that color. It’s the shade I was picturing all along. I decided once I get dressed and slip into my sandals, it will be fine. After my second drink at the reception, it will be perfect.
