I was recently accepted to Northwestern’s School of Communication. My application showed the following:

ACT: 33 (S-30 ; M-33 ; R-35; E-35; W-9)
GPA: 3.9 (W)
APs: US History, US Gov, Econ, Calc, English + tons of honors (extra pt.) classes
Teacher Req’s: Both very very good (AP US and Latin teachers)
Counselor Req: Amazing (counselor that retired last year wrote me a letter that my current counselor included)
EC’s: varsity hockey, almost every musical/play on campus (lead in every musical since sophomore year), president of drama club, president of jsa, madrigals, honors choir, in two bands (i play drums + guitar) etc. etc. (lots)
School: I go to a very very competitive public school in southern california.
Essays: I think they were well written but mostly unique… I wrote my main essay on my “realization” (I know others have different opinions) that humans have no free will and the effect this has had on my life (I also explained my position thoroughly).

Basically, I was lucky to be accepted with my GPA. As of my latest grade report, I am getting all A’s and B’s except in Calculus, in which I currently have a D. If I cannot get that D up to a C by the end of the year, what are the chances they will rescind my application? I called the counselor already and asked if I could drop the course WP and they said absolutely not. Please give me any advice, anecdote’s, or contacts that might know, b/c this might affect my decision to matriculate (ND said I can drop Calculus and it would not affect my decision).
