What constitutes publishing a paper?

Does it mean that as long as your name’s among the string of authors (somewhere in the middle), you can count it as having published a research paper? Thanks.

Yes. But do cite the article’s authors properly.

Hee, you don’t have to be first author to count as having published. :)

Did you find a good UROP? What are you doing?

What is a UROP?

Undergraduate Research Opportunity?

Yes, sorry – UROP is the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program at MIT, where mit_hopefulgirl and I both go.

oh hi mollie=) yep i’m doing a urop at the langer lab - but the urop office seems to hate giving freshmen funding=(

hopefulgirl, if you feel comfortable, would you mind telling me what you’re working on? I’m familar with much of Langer’s work and had the chance to see him when he came to speak at my school. We also have a couple of faculty members who are Langer lab alumni. It’s a great opportunity to be able to work in his lab.
