What date should I come back from Korea?

I looked up at Academic Calendar 2011-2012 and it said Open Registration is rom August 15-19 and Move-In is August 17.

I’m going to Korea for the summer, and I don’t know which plane ticket I should get…

What is an open registration exactly? Do I have to come back by August 15?
Or should I get it for the Move-In date?

What orientation session are you attending? Registration takes place at orientation, so if you skip orientation, you will register when you arrive on campus for move-in day. If you arrive before move-in day you will have to find somewhere to live until move-in day (hence the name “move-in day” ).

There used to be an orientation session just before the start of classes for International students so they didn’t have to travel twice - is that session available to you?

Note: Registration is done on a computer, so technically you don’t have to be “at” USC, but you HAVE to meet with an advisor before you are cleared to register, which is why it has to be at orientation or when you arrive on campus.

I’m not an international but CA resident
I think I’ll attend the earliest orientation…
If I come back to US on Move-In day, August 17th (Wednesday), what do we do until the school officially starts?

I know you aren’t International, but I was thinking you could try to go to that session - I vaguely recall other domestic students giving that a shot in the past (but I can’t remember if they were allowed to do so). But if the first session works for you, you will be all registered before you even leave for Korea! In that case, make your travel arrangements so that you arrive at USC on move-in day.

Oh golly - there are NON-STOP activities between move-in day and the start of classes. NON-stop.

just come back in time so you can be at school on august 17th.
