I am aware that Stanford is need blind for US citizens but need aware for international applicants. I am a Korean student living in Hong Kong, but I was born in the US and have a US citizenship (the only passport I have is the US passport now, as I gave up dual citizenship between US and Korea). I definitely need financial aid; the problem is, would I be considered as a US citizen or an international?

You are a US citizen. The admissions process will be need blind for you. Your application will be read by the admissions representative who reads applications from schools in Hong Kong.

@thevagabondson. @sybbie719 is correct. Since you are a US citizen your application will be read under the need-blind status like those Americans living in the States…

…similarly, if you were a Korean national studying in a US high school…you would be considered an international applicant and will be considered under the “need-aware” umbrella…

Hope this helps.

@gravitas2 @sybbie719 , thank you both.
