What did you accomplish this week and what' s still nagging you.

Done last week:

  1. Replaced flush valve and flap for my 2 toilets.
  2. Finished 3 income tax returns for my D (fed & 2 states)
  3. Removed the top bunk bed from my kids’ room to make a regular bed

Still procastinating and not done:

  1. Have not scanned all receipts and documents for my tax returns (done a month ago)
  2. Still have the top bunk bed parts lying in my living room because I don’t know what I can do with them
  3. Have not found a good movie to watch yet
  4. Still lazy to go for the hair cut
  5. Have not removed the weeds in the backyard

Done last week:

  • went to the dr. to see why I’d been sick for over a week. Was told I just have an upper respiratory infection, prescribed cough syrup, and given antibiotic prescription if symptoms don’t improve. Needless to say, I filled the antibiotic prescription this morning.
  • took DH for his colonoscopy
  • bought a new carry-on bag that should fit in the overhead compartment, provided there’s still room there by the time we board
  • went through family pictures to find ones S1 and FDIL can use for their wedding guest book
-signed papers related to DH’s business

Still undone:

  • finding a MOG dress for S1’s wedding!!!
-buying clothes for our trip to visit S1 and FDIL in a few weeks
    -getting bids on new AC
  • Am finishing a powerpoint presentation to give in a week
  • Celebrated one of my clients excellent college acceptance success this year with a breakfast and gift
  • eating too much
  • not exercising
  • MOG dress to fit into!

Reading through this thread reminds me of other things.

Done:
Completed grading and returned 80 exams
Finally got my S to file his income tax

Nagging:
Cleaning up the yard.
Cleaning out the basement, garage and most closets!! ( Bag a week thread anyone?)
Going through deceased mom’s photo albums and getting rid of pictures I do not want to keep ( would help with the second point above)

morrismm, off topic, but which parks? DH and I are on a tour of the Utah ones. I am collecting stamps for Nat Parks passport and we hit Zion (overcrowded!! and I liked the northern part better, Kolab Arch trail said 11.2 miles, but is 14.3 and they are tough ones in the altitude). Bryce was beautiful, but 18 degrees when we left. We hadn’t PLANNED to camp there, thank goodness!. Capitol Reef, still snowing. Natural Bridges (only a Monument) but as good as many National Parks for us. We did the long drive down the middle since it was (still) too cold to hike. Road is rough but worth it. Glen Canyon ferry isn’t working very often so don’t count on it for a short cut to Natural Bridges. MUST SEE is the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde… book the tour NOW as they fill up and you can only go down INTO the pueblos with a ranger. Awesome to see 1200AD buildings in USA instead of Europe! Arches, I honestly don’t know because it was too crowded to enter today and I really liked Canyon lands.

Or were you going for California National Parks?

teri, big hugs. It is a hard job to be a comforting friend. A friend was going through a nasty split, and it was not easy to be a source of support. I cannot even imagine to comfort a friend though such a terrible loss… Hang in there.

So, about me…

Got a haircut. FINALLY!
Reviwed a big document. A BIG one. Figured out that I know as much as or even more than the “experts in the field” do.
Filed our taxes.
Set up the new oven. Fed a small crowd with a dumpling dish made in said oven. Yummm! Yay.
Took a test (talk about several hours of my life I will never get back).
Comforted kiddo who was in a very bad mood after being listed as the “first alternate” for a Fulbright fellowship (sucks!); told here that she should plan her life as if it is not happening, and that she can always say “no.”
Transplanted the tomatoes and eggplants into bigger pots.
De-thatched the backyard lawn (that will soon be eliminated).
Did the usual stuff I always do.

Eosbay-- the parks are Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Will end up in Salt Lake City and fly out from there. But will have to go back to Utah to visit their parks.

I had a weird work week: been working on an intensely difficult problem and suddenly found myself thinking about something that had fascinated me as a child. Turned out that when I revisited that, it solved the problem. Made me marvel at the deeply connection between things widely spaced in time.

And a new week starts in the morning…blank slate???

Well the nagging stuff still needs to get done.

Meet you here next Friday to see what was done.

Hoping:

Yard work has been at least started.
Getting some stuff from basement ready and donated to church garage sale.

ACCOMPLISHED

  • Been working crazy nights/weekends this month to deliver a project deadline
  • Couldn’t take the grind any more this past weekend, so went to IKEA to buy some wine glasses. Instead, ended up walking out of IKEA w spontaneous purchase of ginormous spotted cowhide

NAGGING
-Still only have until the end of month to finish work deadline

  • What to do with this random, humungous cowskin I just bought…

I would return it. Ha ha

Nice timing for this thread for me.

Finally have the end in site for all major changes in the house we bought 3 years ago. Finished insides, windows doors- everything we wanted to do inside. Much of outside landscaping redone as I think needs. Figured out what to do with the lanai and pool bath, material arrived, I painted the bath, demolition was done (took contractor a whopping half day) and the cabinets (two for lanai, one for bath) will be installed tomorrow with counters and plumbing to follow.

Plus- finally have a handle on contractors and materials for refinishing the pool and redoing the pool area/lanai decking. Also figured out that third side of the screened pool enclosure bushes. A great relief when I decided to go with some bushes and perennials instead of trying to screen the side and still have views. Will now get to have fun. It was quite a learning curve to know who/what/where et al for a new climate/region.

Feel caught up. I can actually enjoy. Oh- and plan details for an upcoming trip. But, the power of knowing what to do is presently fantastic. The great to do list for the retirement house is done. H is signed up for Medicare next month, I have my COBRA. Son finally responded to repeated attempts at contact (25, 3000 miles away…).

Of course my bubble will burst for some reason soon. But- today I am caught up! PS note the time- only a half hour left in the day…

Haha cowskin??

S has his IKEA cowskin as his area rug under the coffee table of his bachelor pad, on the wooden floor. It looks just right in his place.

For the coming week I need to:
-Make sure 2015 Daughter has sent all the break-up notifications to schools she won’t be attending
-Get graduation announcements in the pipeline
-Schedule summer dentist appointments
-IRON (my happy place)
-Plan Administrative Assistants Day luncheon for kids’ school staff
-Plan Teachers Week dealios for kids’ school staff
-Learn how to apply eyeliner
-Alternatively, make peace with the knowledge I’ll never learn to apply eyeliner
