What did YOU all use to study?

Hey so besides the universally known BB…what other SAT books did you use to study from? Like what SAT Practice books, vocab books, SAT I subject specific books, etc. and please post your score from any actual SAT’s you have taken :)

Thanks!

PS: can you rate Princeton Reviews 11 SAT book? thanks :)

DH is a miracle for vocab.
Don’t use PR for practice tests, kaplan is better and more accurate. Go with barrons if ur looking for more difficult questions

Sparknotes has really good study guides for the SAT. They’re all basic review material but they’re really helpful, especially the math, if you need to review subject matter you haven’t seen in awhile.

■■■■ ive been using PR so heavily… >.<

I used barron’s a little bit, but the most useful thing for me was the collegeboard book with 10 practice tests–I just took them all and it really helped me understand what questions to expect.

I also read through a book on how to use my ti-84 before I took the PSAT, and this helped me with solving math questions more quickly…i can’t remember which one it was but a quick search on amazon for “sat ti-84 book” turned up several. I guess my thought is that it’s just like an extension for your brain, so you might as well practice using it.

i used the 12 kaplan practice tests. and the barron’s critical reading workbook!

I have been using Barron’s SAT with CD, McGraw Hill, Barron 25th edition. BB 2nd and 1st edition, and a bunch of oher books I won’t name…

The official SAT study guide. I studied it over and over. I think after one year of preparation using this book, I knew every word by heart! did quite well on the actual exam

Thanks, so whats the difference between BB 1 and 2?

bump!@#!@#!@

BB 2 has 7/8 of the tests in BB 1. BB 2 has 10 tests, 7 of which are from BB 1 and 3 are new ones. The only test in BB 1 that isn’t in BB 2 is the first test.

As for me, I’m studying with the BB, Direct Hits, Princeton Review’s SAT and 11 SAT tests, Mc-Graw’s 12 SAT tests, Barron’s 2400, and a couple more. Just taking more and more practice tests really do help!

Barron’s 2400: Going for the perfect score.

It’s essentially a how-to of all the hard questions. Recommended to me by a friend, my whole group of friends passed it along and we all went up after using it!

BB2, Direct Hits, and the online practice test. I only really did practice sections and studied vocab.

BB1.
Studied my a-- off for vocab, but it didn’t help me too greatly.

Direct Hits was a godsend for the October SAT, although my friends didn’t give it very high reviews after the June administration. Perhaps I got lucky this time :)

Yea Direct Hits has been helping me soo much, but theres so much hate for it cause the way Larry advertises it :(
